Firstly the 16.2 megapixel sensor is really impressive especially for a travel-zoom camera. The camera offers a 16x optical zoom which is present in only a few cameras available in the market. Coupled with a 24mm wide focal length the camera can capture wide landscapes to portrait shots. Looking at the small size of the camera the zoom levels of Sony HX9V is brilliant.

With a dedicated movie button located at the back panel of the camera, the amazing 1080p full HD recording mode captures every frame with crisp sharp images & great background details. Enabled with a HDMI output port users can easily connect the Sony HX9V to their HDTV & enjoy the high quality videos.

Sony CyberShot HX9V makes capturing panoramic images a cake walk. With the Intelligent Sweep Panorama mode you can capture the scene by just pressing the shutter button & sweeping the scene from left to right or top to bottom & voila! Your finished panoramic image is ready. The 3D mode allows you to capture the scene making for a realistic watch on a 3D TV.

The best overall point and shoot out there to date. Image quality is what is to be expected from point and shoot sensor and 16MP resolution (100% crops have a painted affect from noise reduction particularly at high ISO). Full size prints are excellent, however. Camera excells in options and performance (HD panorama, 2.5x zoom macro, 3d, gps, 1080p 60fbs steady shot video, smile detection, etc.).
